CENTERVILLE "CHICKEN TRAIN" HOMEPAGE
Available for rent in the St. Mary parish area!

This pit - a joint venture between Hanagriff's Machine shop, Centerville Volunteer Fire company, and Centerville High Ag Dept. - has been a project "in the works" for over 3 years.  Fabrication began and was completed during 3 months in 2010.

Designed to cook large quantities of meat with a minimal labor effort, it has proven itself to be very efficient at BBQ'g chicken, pork ribs, sausage, and brisket.  It has 17 removable racks (5 ft by 22")  that rotate around 3 huge 5ft burners (65,000 BTU's each), allowing the meat to self-baste and cook evenly while retaining moisture.

A team of 6 can easily operate the pit, and can produce 800-1,000 chicken halves per 3-hour cycle (depending on the size of the birds and ambient temperatures).
